PROBLEM	EFFECTS	SOLUTIONS
HARDNESS	Spotting and streaking of glasses and dishes. Poor laundry results. Bath tub rings. Formation of insoluble hard water scale in pipes, water heaters and appliances.	AUTOMATIC WATER SOFTENER. We can recommend the proper softener model based on the water hardness in grains per gallon and the size of your family.
HARDNESS AND CLEAR WATER IRON	Freshly drawn water appears clear but within minutes iron settles out staining sink, bowl and plumbing fixtures.	AUTOMATIC WATER SOFTENER with RUST-AID added to salt.
RED WATER IRON	Rust or iron is clearly visible in freshly drawn water. Rust or iron could range from fine red specks to blood red water.	IRON FILTER plus AUTOMATIC WATER SOFTENER or AQUA-AID WATER FILTER plus AUTOMATIC WATER SOFTENER with RUST TREATMENT added to salt.
ACID	Etches faucet seats and dissolves chrome finish on plumbing fixtures leaving a greenish blue stain.	ACID NEUTRALIZER or AUTOMATIC CHEMICAL FEEDER (feeding lime soda ash) plus AUTOMATIC WATER SOFTENER. IN LINE PHOSPHATE FEEDER to coat pipes.
TURBIDITY	Sand, clay, silt and dirt in water supply causes cloudy appearance (turbidity) in water.	TURBIDITY FILTER or WATER FILTER.
ACID AND RED WATER IRON	Acid etches faucet seats and dissolves chrome finish on plumbing fixtures leaving a greenish blue stain. Red water iron appears as fine red specks to blood red water.	ACID NEUTRALIZER plus AUTOMATIC WATER SOFTENER with RUST TREATMENT added to the salt.
SULFUR	Hydrogen sulfide in water emits unpleasant "rotten egg odor", leaves black slimy residue, deteriorates plumbing fixtures turns pure metals, like silver and copper, black.	AERATION SYSTEM or CHEMICAL FEEDER (feeding chlorine) plus AUTOMATIC WATER SOFTENER plus WATER FILTER on cold water line to kitchen or WATER FILTER on main line to dechlorinate water.
TASTE & ODOR	Most tastes and odors are caused by gases in the water, like chlorine and gassy or oily tastes.	TASTE & ODOR FILTER or WATER FILTER.
